Amazon expected to challenge Apple iTunes with its own digital music download service

Market sources claim that the online retailing giant Amazon has plans to launch its own digital music service to take on Apple iTunes.

This new service is likely to be different from the others as the company could offer the songs with less restricted DRM technology.

In fact, some news sources claim that Amazon went to the music companies telling them that they want to sell the media from their stores without any form of DRM.

Apple has taken the first major step in this direction by collaboration with EMI to launch their catalogue of music without any DRM. These music files are however priced a bit higher compared to the DRM enabled versions.

EMI has already said that they would soon make available the DRM free media to other online stores and Amazon might be one of them.

I wonder if Amazon will be selling music via Amazon.com or via Amasong?
I recently done a who is on Amasong.com and found that Amazon Inc own it. Sounds good!
