Photobucket settles their disputes with MySpace

MySpace had some time back applied a block on media content hosted by Photobucket on their member profile pages. They had claimed that this content was against their terms of usage by their members.

Photobucket has now said that they have no resolved their differences with the News Corp owned online social networking portal.

The two companies have not revealed much but Photobucket did accept that they would need to abide by MySpace’s terms of service.

MySpace had complained that Photobucket was luring MySpace members to incorporate an ad-supported slideshow into their MySpace personal profile pages. They claimed that this violated the MySpace policies banning unauthorized commercial activities.

Photobucket Chief Executive Alex Welch added in a blog post: “Moving forward, we’ve established open lines of communication and procedures with MySpace to prevent a sudden block of Photobucket content in the future. We want our users to be able to share their content and understand it must be within the framework of MySpace’s Terms of Service for it to appear on the site.”
