Glenys Ambe: first person to book a ticket on Virgin Galactic
An Australian woman named Glenys Ambe has become the first individual to book a ticket on the Virgin Galactic.
Virgin Galactic is the Richard Branson’s ambitious space travel service and the tickets are being sold for a massive $US200,000.
The ticket was sold by World Travel Professionals which was last year accredited as an official Virgin Galactic Space Agent.
As part of the program, all tourists would be undergoing three days in training before they take off on the flight from a new American spaceport in New Mexico.
Virgin Galactic has stated that their spacecrafts would be capable of taking six passengers and two pilots 110 kilometers above Earth.
This height would enable the travelers to see the planet’s curvature and experience weightlessness. Branson along with his own family would be the first travelers on these spacecrafts.
