Microsoft interested in acquiring 24/7 Real Media Inc.
Google acquired DoubleClick beating competing bids from Yahoo and Microsoft. Yahoo responded by acquiring Right Media.
Now, Microsoft is rumored to be considering spending as much as a billion dollars to buy Internet advertising firm 24/7 Real Media Inc.
The New York Post reported this market rumor in its edition earlier today. Since the news broke out, the shares of the company surged more than 28 percent in premarket trading to $12.75 from a close of $9.95 on Monday.
The NYP has cited unnamed sources claiming that the software giant is seriously interested in this acquisition deal.
Looks like the fear of Google’s domination of the online advertising market is freaking out both Yahoo and Microsoft.
