Research in Motion introduces BlackBerry Mobile Voice System

The makers of the BlackBerry communication devices Research In Motion have now launched their new BlackBerry Mobile Voice System.

The company said that this new offering would enable the seamless convergence of a BlackBerry Smartphone with an office desk phone.

RIM added that the BlackBerry Mobile Voice System would enable the BlackBerry users to be authenticated to an enterprise telephone system.

They would get access to the advance functions available on the telephone systems from their BlackBerry devices.

RIM added that using the MVS system, a user would be able to give out a “Reach Me Anywhere” phone number that rings both the owner’s office desk phone and the BlackBerry.

The company further claimed that MVS can work in heterogeneous PBX environments, including IP, TDM, or mixed-vendor environments.

IDC analyst Sean Ryan added on this new service offering from RIM: “Avaya, Nortel, and other companies are also working in this area, making corporate systems compatible with a range of devices, including BlackBerry. RIM is definitely trying to enhance their platform by increasing their portfolio to accommodate the needs of different end users.”
