CNET to provide content for News Corp. and NBC Universal video venture
News Corp. and NBC Universal have announced that they are collaborating with the tech company CNet networks.
CNet would now be providing them with content from their owned services like TV.com and GameSpot.com for their upcoming video venture.
The companies further revealed that the deal would see Cnet distributing the new site’s library of licensed content.
Impressively, their upcoming video service would already have tons of content from both NBC and News Corp. This could include material from the popular television series like “Saturday Night Live” and “The Simpsons” and the hit movies like “The Devil Wears Prada” and “Borat”.
The two companies aims to have their service launched by summer this year. The aim is to take on existing services like Google’s YouTube so that the media companies do have an alternate medium to show their videos online. Google currently dominates the online video sharing market with their YouTube and Google Video services.
