MySpace Japan launches YouTube challenging services

World’s most popular online social networking service MySpace has launched a video sharing service on their Japanese portal.

With this MySpace is taking on not only domestic rivals but also the Google owned YouTube video sharing service which is currently the most popular of its kind in the world.

Incidentally, a similar service is also provided by Japan’s hugely popular social services network Mixi which allows their members to upload an unlimited number of their own videos on the Internet.

The company said that they would be closely monitoring all the content being uploaded to their servers for copyrighted material.

YouTube has been under a lot of criticism for failing to control uploads of copyrighted material on their service. They are already facing a couple of lawsuits related to this problem.
