Sony Ericsson P1 Smartphone announced
Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson has announced their latest Smartphone product named P1. This new product is expected to be launched in the market by the third quarter of the current year.
Sony Ericsson P1 would feature a 3.2 megapixel camera, QWERTY keyboard in addition to VoIP and BlackBerry support, handwriting recognition, a business card scanner.
Steve Walker, Head of Product Marketing at Sony Ericsson spoke about this upcoming product: “In one sense the Sony Ericsson P1 is an evolution of our P-series smartphones, as it pushes forward the best attributes of its predecessors. At the same time there are also significant improvements in design, speed and battery performance.”
The phone has been designed primarily for the business users as it would support not only BlackBerry Connect for push emails, but Microsoft users are accommodated with Exchange ActiveSync.
It would be powered by the Symbian operating system (v9.1) and UIQ 3.0. it would support 3G with GPRS capability for data coverage in addition to Tri-Band GPRS 900/1800/1900 and UMTS 2100. Sony added that the phone would also support Wi-Fi 802.11b.
