Google not worried about a possible Microsoft-Yahoo alliance
Media sources have claimed that the two tech industry giants Microsoft and Yahoo are considering setting up an alliance to take on the search engine industry king Google. Microsoft itself has not exactly denied that they are not considering such a possible alliance.
Google on its part has said that they are not worried about them getting together. Google CEO Eric Schmidt said in a statement: “It wouldn’t change our strategy. It would change the competitive dynamic, but it wouldn’t cause us to do anything different.”
Google is already the world’s most used search engine service. They are also the giants in the online advertising market. Market analytic firms have said that they are now the world’s most-visited website, with more than 500 million monthly visitors.
They just recently acquired the online advertising firm DoubleClick for $3 billion and are scheduled to add a presentation tool to their Google Docs and Spreadsheet service.
The company also faces intense criticism from their rivals. Schmidt added: “We should expect the criticism. It’s healthy and makes us stronger. The only frustration is when the criticism is based on a falsehood.”
