Online social networking service Facebook has announced that they are now adding a classifieds service to their website.
With this they are directly taking on web services including Craigslist and newspapers which have a huge presence in this market.
Facebook also claimed in their statement that they are currently adding on new members at a pace of as many as 150,000 a month.
The new service has been named Facebook Marketplace initiative and they are now inviting members to post their ads on the service.
Members are allowed to make their ads to a selective group of people like their contacts and friends.
