NASA: Space Shuttle launch set for June 8
US Space Agency NASA has confirmed that they have fixed the hail-damaged fuel tank of the Space Shuttle Atlantis.
The shuttle is now ready to be moved back to its launch pad for the currently scheduled June 8 launch.
Shuttle fuel tank manager John Chapman had this to say about the repair work: “I want to prepare all of you for what this tank is going to look like when we roll it out. It’s going to look pretty speckly.”
The damage to the fuel tank has already cost NASA three months as they worked hard on fixing the tank to prepare for this upcoming launch.
Atlantis on this upcoming mission to space would be carrying a newly expanded crew of seven carrying a new set of solar power-producing wings for the space station.
