Apple rumored to be working on a Flash Memory based notebook product
Sequoia Capital’s Jason Calacanis has been quoted as saying that the iPod maker Apple Inc. is indeed working on a laptop featuring solid state flash memory.
He added that the company is likely to launch such a product very soon in the market. He was speaking on his podcast and referred to a “well-placed source” that confirms the plans.
Market already has quite a lot of rumors related to Apple’s upcoming products. Intel’s recent launched of their new ‘Santa Rosa’ laptop processor has also boosted the chances that the company would launch some new and updated notebook products.
Intel’s Centrino Pro technology has optimized support for Solid State storage in laptops and also features longer battery life and faster Core 2 Duo processors, alongside support for the draft version of 802.11n wireless networking and a Turbo Memory feature that supplements the standard hard drive with NAND flash for faster booting.
