Motorola to sell mobile phones to China Postel Mobile Communication Equipment
China Postel Mobile Communication Equipment Co Ltd is the China’s largest mobile phone distributor and they have just announced a new mega deal signed with the US based mobile phone maker Motorola.
This deal is worth around USD 2.3 billion dollars and would see Motorola supplying mobile phones to the Chinese company.
China Postel said that they would be buying 16 million handsets from Motorola this year. The company further claimed that this deal is one of the most important to be signed in the lead-up to the China-US Strategic Economic Dialog in Washington next week.
This is good news for Motorola which is struggling in the mobile phone market as they face intense competition from both Nokia and Samsung.
Another Chinese company Lenovo also just recently announced a 4.3 billion dollar deal with software giant Microsoft to supply them with software products.
