Microsoft to develop emissions software along with the Clinton Foundation
Software giant Microsoft has announced that they are going to work with the Clinton Foundation to develop free Web-based software and services to let the cities around the world monitor their carbon emissions.
They would also going to make available collaborative features to enable the cities to share ideas about environmental protection.
Microsoft said that the involved cities would be able to use the online software to better understand their environmental impact and to participate in an online community. They would be free to share ideas and best practices and collaborating.
The cities would be able to monitor their progress and track the effectiveness of emissions reduction programs. The company added that their software would be compatible with certain existing emissions reduction products.
The US based company is also hoping that the wide usage of software would give cities a common measurement system for monitoring emissions.
