Toyota launches Lexus LS600h hybrid sedan in Japan
World’s second largest automaker Toyota has launched their latest model Lexus LS600h Hybrid sedan in the Japanese market.
The company expects this premium car to help them challenge the likes of BMW and Mercedes Benz in this segment of the market.
Toyota is pretty successful in the US market with their Lexus brand but fails to match the sales of BMWs in the worldwide market.
It added in a statement that this hybrid version of the Lexus LS600h would redefine the premium segment by offering performance, luxury and fuel economy in one package.
Toyota President Katsuaki Watanabe said: “This car takes the concept of luxury beyond the conventional parameters and into the 21st century.”
They are aiming to sell 7,000 units of this car globally in 2007. They would begin the exports sometime next month and they are hoping to sell it in as many as 30 countries.
