Google considering entering wireless service market!
We have all heard rumors about the possibility of Google launching a mobile device powered with their mobile and web based services.
The latest report in the market is that the company is now considering entering the wireless service market.
A Google executive Richard Whitt, Washington, D.C. telecom and media counsel was quoted as saying to the media: “We have not ruled in or out participating in the auction as a licensee.”
FCC is currently scheduled to auction wireless spectrum in the 700MHz band sometime next year and looks like Google could be participating in that auction.
Whitt however did not reveal much on what the company could do with this spectrum. However, it would give them the capability to build a network and offer wireless services directly to users without requiring to collaborate with any of the existing player in the market.
