Nokia to start selling Dual-Mode Business Phones in USA

World’s largest mobile phone maker Nokia is rumored to have signed on deals with distributors to launch their Dual-Mode Business Phones in the US market.

The company has till now failed to launch these products in the market considering local telecom players do not like to offer products which support other technologies which compete with their own offerings.

David Dorosin, director of marketing for security and mobile connectivity at Nokia spoke about the problems they have been facing: “Wireless networking certainly creates uncertainty from a mobile operator’s point of view.”

Nokia’s dual mode business phones would support capabilities to connect to large corporation’s PBX system while the user is in the premises. This would enable them to use the office network while on the move.

Nokia has been using technology provided by Intellisync software which they originally developed for their E-Series mobile devices.

Market analysts however say that the company still lacks a mobile device which allows the user to switch between the carrier and the wi-fi network during the call. Motorola is said to be working on developing such a device. No release dates have been specified.
