Google’s market share in US searches continues to increase

Search engine giant Google continues to increase their market share in the number of searches conducted using their search engine in the United States.

As per available results, Google held 49.7 percent of the U.S. search market. This is an improvement of around 1.4% compared to March this year.

Yahoo’s share in comparison fell down 0.7 points to 26.8 percent. Microsoft’s Live search engine too lost 0.6 percentage points to 10.3 percent.

Ask.com was the fourth most popular search engine service in April with a market share of 5.1 percent . It was down 0.1% from March 2007.

AOL maintained their market share of 5% of the total searches conducted in US in the month of April as per the statistics revealed by comScore.

comScore added in their report that U.S. Web users performed 7.3 billion searches in April, 11 percent more than a year earlier.
