Paul McCartney music now available on several online stores

Apple Inc. was pretty excited to report earlier this month that they would soon be offering the Paul McCartney’s full catalog of 25 solo albums on their Apple iTunes web store.

However, they could not fully utilize the exclusivity as most other online sellers and subscription services have now added the music from former Beatles to their offerings.

As of now, several digital music retailers including Napster LLCs’ Napster, RealNetworks Inc.’s Rhapsody, Viacom International Inc.’s Urge, and Microsoft Corp.’s Zune Marketplace are offering some or all of McCartney’s music in their stores.

At the time of the announcement of deal with Apple, McCartney had said that that a deal to sell Beatles tunes online was “virtually settled”. Looks like those plans are postponed for now considering EMI is undergoing an acquisition deal with a private equity firm.

EMI is the McCartney’s former label and the home of the Beatles and they are being acquired for $4.7 billion.
