Yahoo! has joined hands with Go Nextel Communications Inc. to provide Enhanced Messaging Services to the Nextel customers. Yahoo! Mobile Internet is a suite of services provided by Yahoo! that includes messaging, e-mail, games, and news services. Consumers with Nextel handheld devices would now be able to get access to all these facilities.

These plans give Yahoo! an opportunity to move beyond their traditional domain of being accessible to desktop customers. Yahoo! fans can now use their mobiles to get access to the various services provided by them just by logging into it.

Consumers would be able to check their Yahoo! Mail, stay in touch with their friends on Yahoo! Messenger and even more. Yahoo! News would be supplying them the latest news from around the world and downloadable games would be available from Yahoo! Games.

Google has also moved onto the mobile market with their services called Google SMS. However, Yahoo! has better availability of content due to their huge network of sites.
