Hearst-Argyle Television collaborates with Google’s YouTube
Google has announced that they have signed a deal with Hearst-Argyle Television for their YouTube video sharing website.
As part of this deal, local TV stations will be paid when YouTube users watch their programming on the video sharing service.
The two companies would now share advertising revenue on news, weather and entertainment videos.
This deal is the first time YouTube would be paying for local TV programming.
Hearst-Argyle would now begin posting their content on dedicated channels on YouTube so that the interested viewers can get access to them easily.
Google added that they would also distribute Hearst-Argyle’s new digital video initiatives. This would include high school football, basketball and local amateur entertainment.
