Mike Volpi is the CEO of Joost Internet Television company

Internet television broadcasting service Joost has announced that they are naming former Cisco Systems Inc. executive Mike Volpi as their new CEO.

Volpi was recently working with Cisco as a senior VP and general manager for Cisco’s routing and service provider technology group.

Janus Friis, executive co-chairman and co-founder of Joost spoke on this appointment: “Mike is the dream choice for this role. His leadership abilities in combination with his vision and technological expertise are unsurpassed and will serve as a powerful driving force in the realization of the company’s vision.”

Volpi is taking over from founding CEO Fredrik de Wahl. He takes this new position in the company immediately.

Wahl would continue to work at CEO as the chief strategy officer.
