Virgin Mobile to use InfoSpace’s suite of mobile platform services

InfoSpace has announced that they have made a significant deal with the U.K.’s Virgin Mobile. They would now supply them with their suite of mobile platform services.

This deal signed between the two parties would include the mobile search feature built on technology from FAST Search & Transfer.

InfoSpace would now power the search services on the WAP sites including Virgin Mobile’s portal and storefront.

InfoGin is also involved in this deal and they would be supplying their Web-to-mobile content in the application.

Nick White, Virgin Mobile’s head of Digital Services said in a statement on this deal with InfoSpace: “Virgin Mobile is a firm believer that there should be no limit to the content available for our users — from the latest celeb gossip to searches for entertainment in the local area or even the most cryptic piece of trivia — it must be available to everyone, every where.”
