Chevrolet Optra Magnum launched by GM India

General Motors India has finally launched the much awaited diesel variant of the Optra sedan in the Indian market.

The company launched Optra Magnum sedan as they are now aiming for the diesel segment in the premium luxury segment.

GM has received tremendous response to their recently launched Chevrolet Spark and they expect the same from Optra Magnum.

GM India has made available three variants of the Optra Magnum vehicle. These variants are powered with a two-liter turbocharged common rail direct injection engine.

The three variants are priced starting from Rs. 8.74 lakh to Rs. 9.99 lakh.

GM India Director, Marketing, Anisha Motwani spoke about their targets for the Indian market: “Despite the industry slowing down, we have been able to achieve robust growth. This year we are looking at selling about 66,000 units as compared to 38,800 units last year.”

He further said that the company is also scheduled to launch a new petrol version of the Optra sedan.

    I test drove the car today…goes like a rocket. The turbo comes into play at very low speeds…will be good while overtaking….likeable car…looks good too with the front like that of SRV…dealers claim a 17-18 kpl in city with ac on…i doubt it!!
