Baidu.com denies any European plans
Chinese search engine company Baidu.com has said in a statement that they currently have no plans to enter the European market as some market rumors suggested.
Baidu.com said in its statement: “Recent rumors alleging that Baidu.com is expanding into Europe are groundless.”
Telegraph newspaper was the first major news source to have claimed in a report that Baidu.com planned to announce their European plans at a London conference.
The report did not name its source for this information. Baidu.com is the dominating search engine service in the Chinese market and is also present in Japan.
Incidentally, their Japanese search engine is more or less inaccessible in China. Baidu.com added that they would continue to invest in their Japanese venture for the time being which remains their only foray into the international market.
