Volvo cars in India by December this year

Volvo is entering the Indian market and they are planning to launch their first car in India by December this year.

The company would compete with other global automakers in the Indian market like BMW, Mercedes Benz and Audi.

Managing Director, Volvo Car India, Paul de Voijs spoke about their plans for India: “Looking at two previous races, we have seen that there’s fantastic image building associated with leisure activities. It very well coincides with the mentality and activity that our customers have.” Volvo is organizing the famous Volvo Ocean race in Chennai in December next year.

BMW plans to counter their move by showcasing their art cars. The German automaker would exhibit two cars from a treasured art car collection in Mumbai’s Jehangir Art Gallery in September this year.
