Apple iPhone would require an iTunes account
Apple has mentioned on their website that any customer wanting to own an Apple iPhone mobile phone would be required to open an Apple iTunes account before they can activate their phone device!
This account would be totally separate to the customer’s wireless account with the telecom company AT&T which is the exclusive Apple partner to offer iPhone in the US market.
Market analysts say that this requirement would help Apple create its own billing relationship with iPhone customers. It would also mean that it would become tougher for people outside the US market to get an iPhone working on their own networks.
Emma Mohr-McClune, an analyst with Current Analysis Inc. added her views: “It would be naive to imagine that Apple wouldn’t leverage iTunes with iPhone.”
Apple website mentions that any prospective Apple iPhone customer is suggested to open an account at Apple iTunes now to save time later on.
Apple is scheduled to launch the highly anticipated Apple iPhone device later this month.
