Audi India operations now on

Audi has confirmed that their Indian operations has now started. The company said in a statement that they have now commenced its operations in India by establishing a sales office in the country.

Audi’s Indian unit would function as a division of Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt Ltd. It’s headquarters are located in Mumbai.

Audi further revealed that they have appointed Benoit Tiers as Managing Director for Audi India.

The company said: “We have ambitious growths plans for India and we plan to sell around 3,000 vehicles by 2010. Our goal is to become the leading automobile luxury brand in the Indian market.”

Audi India now plans to expand its dealer network to nine in central locations around the country by the end of 2007. They currently have three dealers in India.

Incidentally, Audi is already selling their cars in India and have made popular models including Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A8, Audi Q7 and Audi TT available to Indian customers.
