IBM launches BladeCenter S system for small business customers
US based tech giant IBM is now targeting small-to-medium-sized businesses with their latest products in its blade server line.
IBM has launched their BladeCenter S system which comes loaded with server, storage, input-output connections to a network and software integrated into a single chassis.
The company did not reveal the pricing of this upcoming system but did say that it would be available by the fourth quarter of the year.
Alex Yost, vice president and business line executive for IBM’s blade products added in a statement: “BladeCenter S simplifies IT for our customers. Set up is three easy steps: Take it out of the box, plug it in and run the wizard to get it up and running, much like you might do a PC today.”
Apple added that the system is small enough to sit on a desktop. It is powered with a standard 110- or 220-volt electrical current.
IBM faces intense competition in this segment of the market. HP just recently launched their BladeSystem bc2000 and bc2500 machines in the market.
