M:Metrics: Apple iPhone has 19 million Americans interested in it!
The mobile market research firm M:Metrics has said in a report that as per their studies, there are around 19 million Americans who are interested in the upcoming Apple iPhone mobile phone device.
Mark Donovan, senior vice president and senior analyst, M:Metrics spoke on their findings: “This data confirms that the iPhone has sparked the imaginations of consumers and is not merely a topic of conversation among insiders and technology enthusiasts.”
He added that the number is pretty impressive considering most high end devices fail to approach a user base of just around 1 million.
The company said that the interviewed people were told about the price of the product along with the condition that the phone would have to be ordered with an AT&T contract.
Donovan added: “This is an early indication that AT&T’s strategy to use the device to lure customers from competitors could pay off.”
The Apple iPhone is scheduled for launch later this month and would cost a fortune compared to other contract phones available in the market from mobile carriers. Apple has said that they are aiming at sales of around a million units in the first year of launch.
