Nokia: optical sensors and touch screens to become more common in mobile phones
World’s largest mobile phone maker Nokia has said in a statement that they expect more mobile devices in the market to feature optical sensors and touch screens.
Nokia Chief Technology Officer Tero Ojanpera said in a statement on their views: “Optical sensors and touch will be the next big things. I believe there will be a lot of innovation around these.”
Looks like Nokia is expecting the Apple’s iPhone to become a huge hit leading a lot of copycat design from rivals.
LG has already launched their LG Prada mobile phone featuring a touch screen display. Apple iPhone would come out later this month and HTC also has made available their Touch mobile phone featuring a touch screen.
Nokia itself has used touch screens on their phones but mainly on their higher end mobile phones. The future products are likely to be more affordable and mainstream.
