AT&T not considering bidding for Vodafone
US telecom giant AT&T has said in a statement that they are not considering bidding for the other major company in the market Vodafone.
AT&T said that they would instead concentrate on acquiring smaller companies to better meet the needs of multinational companies.
AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson dismissed rumors about a possible bid for the Vodafone saying: “We’re not mulling an offer.”
He added that making bids for former European telecoms monopolies does not make financial sense for the company.
He however confirmed that they want to expand their presence throughout the world. Stephenson said: “I believe international is a huge opportunity for AT&T.”
AT&T is in a strong position in the US market and with the upcoming Apple iPhone mobile phone product, things are only going to get better for them.
AT&T has been selected as the exclusive service provider for the Apple iPhone.
