They could do anything, e.g. the rumored iPhone Nano with tactile controls at the back and no touch screen. This design concept is so simple, the true hype is the multi-touch screen. Think of iPod as just a slim MP3 player with a clickwheel. The iPhone is just a widescreen phone with Mac Os inside.
