Sprint makes available Mogul smartphone from HTC

US based mobile service provider Sprint has launched the Mogul smartphone from HTC. This is the first handset being offered by the company which supports the higher transmission speeds of EVDO.

This is also the first CDMA handset to be launched in the US market to feature Windows Mobile 6 Professional.

HTC Mogul comes loaded with Bluetooth and integrated Wi-Fi. It would be shipped with the Rev. 0 of EVDO and would later be updated to faster Rev. A capabilities through a software update.

Sprint expects to make the technology available on this handset by the third quarter of the year.

Another future update would let the users of this new mobile handset from Sprint to shop at the Sprint Music Store. This store has a database of over 1.6 million songs and users can purchase tracks for 99 cents each if they are subscribed to Sprint Power Vision data plan.

HTC Mogul

Sprint added that the Mogul mobile device has a battery life about 20 percent longer than the PPC-6700. It also comes with 256MB internal memory and the device would ship with an additional 512-MB microSD card.
