Verizon Communications now has a million plus customer base for FiOS service

US based telecom service provider Verizon Communications has said that they have now signed up its millionth subscriber to its FiOS residential fiber-optic service.

Verizon’s FiOS comes loaded with telephone and broadband Internet service in addition to cable television in some areas in the market.

The company added that they now have a television service subscriber base of around 500,000 customers.

Verizon entered the market with their FiOS service in August 2004. A company representative said that a family of five in Massapequa had the millionth home to be connected.

They provide the FiOS service mostly in suburban areas in 16 states.
