Dell replacing displays on nine popular notebook PC models after receiving customer complaints
World’s second largest personal computer maker Dell has now announced that they are now going to offer free replacements of the displays on nine popular notebook PC models.
The company is responding the massive customer complaints some of whom went ahead and started a website telling the world about their problems.
Dellverticalline.com says about the problems faced by these models: “Dell shipped faulty LCD screens in 2005 and is giving customers grief about replacing the screens. It’s time to bring attention to the issue. Managers at Dell need to be made aware of the issue so that they can stop treating their loyal customers like dirt and replace the screens in a timely fashion.”
The website further claims that unless the faulty screen is replaced, it could possibly develop a permanent vertical line one pixel wide. This line would remain stuck on a single color or would reflect the color displayed behind it.
Dell has issued a statement saying that they would replace any LCD screen affected by this issue within three years of purchase. The company would also be refunding customers who got the problem fixed by paying the company.
