Verizon Wireless to support Obopay mobile payment service
Verizon Wireless has announced that they would now start supporting the mobile payment service offered by privately held Obopay Inc.
Using this service, mobile users are able to use their cell phones to send each other money. Verizon would start offering this service in the coming weeks.
Obopay has designed their service to someday allow the users to use their mobile devices at retail stores as payment tools.
It comes with an Obopay prepaid MasterCard enabling the subscribers to spend the money on their mobile account.
This would be the latest service being offered by one of the leading telecom service providers in the US market to attract more customers. Incidentally, eBay’s PayPal service is already allowing mobile transactions since April last year.
Verizon has not yet revealed the pricing structure of this new upcoming service.
