Ford Endeavour updated edition coming up

Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra has just launched their Mahindra Getaway American. Ford on the other hand is enhancing their Indian automobile portfolio by launching an updated edition of their Endeavour SUV.

Mahindra Getaway is available in two variants costing between Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 8 lakh. Mahindra‘s executive vice-president, sales & marketing, Rajesh Jejurikar spoke on this new product: “The pick-up segment or the lifestyle SUV segment is practically non-existent in India. We plan to lead the segment with our product and create a market for the same.” Mahindra is also already exporting their automobiles to countries like South Africa and Australia.

Ford’s updated Endeavour has been made available in three versions. These are priced between Rs 14.72 and Rs 15.62 lakh.

Ford India president & managing director Arvind Mathew spoke about the newly launched Ford Endeavour: “Even though the premium SUV segment has been stagnant for some time, we expect to grow by about 15-16%.”

Ford added that they are planning to launch a diesel variant of Fusion by FY08 Q3. Mathew added: “The diesel variant, to be launched by the third quarter of this year, will enable us to have a robust diesel portfolio.”
