AT&T prepares for the upcoming Apple iPhone launch
Apple iPhone is scheduled for launch later this month and AT&T is working hard to make sure that everything is right for the launch.
They are the exclusive service provider for the Apple iPhone mobile phone device and consumers would have to get into a contract with them to get hold of the device.
AT&T has said that the device would be made available for sale on all 1,800 AT&T phone stores at 6 pm. sharp on June 29 in the USA.
However, the sheer anticipation means that the device is likely to sell out completely within a day or two.
Larry Carter, senior vice president of sales for AT&T said: “We fully expect one or more of our stores to run out of stock on the first or second day – my guess is the first day.”
AT&T is planning to keep their stores open for an additional hour on the launch date to accommodate as many customers as possible.
Carter added that they have added 2,000 extra sales people to stores to meet this huge demand in the initial days.
AT&T has also said that they would limit the number of units a person can buy to prevent them from being sold in black market at a later date.
