Nanjing Auto to export Chinese-made MG 7 series cars
Chinese automaker Nanjing Automobile Corp has said in a statement that they are going to start exports of their MG 7 series cars as early as the second half of next year.
The company is seriously working on plans to revive the UK’s most famous car brand globally.
They are currently planning on exporting these cars to Malaysia, Russia and Britain. Tang Yuejin, vice general manager of Nanjing MG Automotive Co Ltd added: “We are be able to export at any time as we have passed all the technical tests including emission (standard) from VCA, the designated UK Vehicle Type Approval authority.”
However, he added that the company currently has no plans to manufacture this car in the UK market.
Zhang Xin, general manager of Nanjing MG added: “We are confident of market acceptance because British cars have their unique features and are models of art compared with others.”
The company added that they are also considering cooperating with China’s largest car maker SAIC on a possible tie-up to develop the MG and Rover models.
