Seagate, Samsung launches their own 1 Terabyte Hard Disks
Samsung and Seagate have both announced the launch of 1TB hard disk products. Incidentally, they are late considering Hitachi Global Storage Technologies has already launched similar products nearly two months ago!
Seagate announced that their Barracuda ES.2 and Barracuda 7200.11 would be shipped to the market in the third quarter of the year.
Samsung itself has launched their SpinPoint F1 Series Serial ATA hard drive last week. Western Digital remains the only one of the top four hard disk maker to have not launched a 1TB product in the market.
Market analysts are surprised that Seagate failed to become the first vendor in the market to announce their 1TB product. They are the leaders in the market and are quite active in incorporating the latest technologies in their products.
These hard disk products are all priced in the range of USD 400.
