Apple posts video highlighting the ease of using Apple iPhone keyboard
Apple iPhone is coming out in the US market tomorrow. Early reviews have been pretty impressive.
Even the controversial on screen keyboard has managed to impress the few testers who managed to get their hands on a unit.
Apple has taken more steps to make sure that the prospective Apple iPhone owners are comfortable with the idea of buying the iPhone with its on screen keyboard.
The company has posted a new video on the Apple iPhone website which features the several technologies applied to make typing easier on the device.
The video highlights the fact that the keyboard does not take the precious space on the phone and only appears when it is required.
The dial pad (to make a call) of course has a full screen keyboard. Other applications on the device have their own customized on screen versions of the keyboard. For example, the Safari keyboard lacks the space bar considering web addresses do not contain any spaces. The keypad on the Safari also has an additional button to quickly insert [.] [.com] and [/] into the address bar.
The video also highlights the intelligence behind the system which keeps track of the typing habit of the user to suggest and correct words. It also automatically add up all the names and information in the address book to make them available while typing an SMS/Email.
The device also is smart enough to make “landing zone” for each predicted letter so that the user does not make mistakes while typing at a faster speeds. This feature enhances the area around the key on the keypad which the system think is what the user is going to press next!
Looks like the company is keeping track of the user opinion about the Apple iPhone and is working hard on making sure that there are no doubts in anyone’s mind who is going to line up outside an Apple Store starting tomorrow to purchase the iPhone!
Actually, after watching the video, we are hoping that the developers of word processing applications like the OpenOffice project incorporate some of the ideas from the iPhone technology!
