Prom Queen comes to Amazon.com Unbox video store
Amazon.com has announced that they are now offering the web based teen soap opera “Prom Queen” on their Unbox video store.
The soap opera was created by Vuguru which is a new media studio backed by former Disney CEO Michael Eisner.
It has around 80 episodes which were broadcasted on the web and the final episode was released earlier this month.
The version available on Amazon contains all the episodes along with an extra 10 minutes of exclusive footage.
Interested customers can rent the video for $3.99 for 30 days. Full video can be purchased for $9.99.
Roy Price, director of digital video at Amazon.com spoke on their decision to offer this soap opera on their store: “I see ‘Prom Queen’ and other properties like that as just like TV shows and I think, more important, the ‘Prom Queen’ audience doesn’t make much of a distinction between the episodes they see on their PC and episodes of their favorite show they watch on television.”
