AT&T almost out of stock of Apple iPhone units!

The launch day has has come and gone and AT&T has now reported that they have sold almost all its initial stock of Apple iPhone.

The company managed to sell bulk of their initial stocks within hours of the device going on sale.

Apple itself has not reported the number of iPhones they sold in the market on the launch day.

AT&T spokesman Mark Siegel has just this to say: “Virtually all of our stores sold out of the iPhone last night.”

The company is now taking orders from customers giving them the option of picking the handset up in a store later or having it shipped to them directly

Siegel spoke about the reported problems faced by iPhone customers while activating their phones: “There are some whose activation process is being delayed and that’s something that can happen in a launch like this and we’re resolving those on a case-by-case basis.”

OK I ordered a new 3G iPhone on Friday at an AT&T store since they were already sold out after 1 hour. I was told the back ordered phone would be here on Monday.
Now it is Monday and the AT&T store is telling me it could be weeks before the phone arrives.

I feel totally lied to and misled by Apple. Obviously they didn’t have the inventory to meet demand. What a joke.

Has anyone else had this problem as well?
Maybe it is time to look at other options such as cancelling the contract and finding a phone and carrier that doesn’t deceive the public.
    Instinct anyone?
