Samsung introduces a multiband mobile TV chipset
South Korean tech giant Samsung has introduced a brand new multiband mobile TV chipset. This chipset could be used to develop mobile phone products for the cellular phones in Europe, Asia, and the United States.
The company said that the chipset has been built with a 65-nanometer manufacturing process.
It comes loaded with support for a multistandard channel decoder and a multiband radio frequency tuner.
The chipset further supports multiple digital standards, including DVB-H/T, DAB-IP, ISDB-T, and terrestrial DMB.
The company added in its statement: “Although a new market, we see high growth potential in mobile TV applications.”
They are releasing the new chipset in Europe and Asia first. The company would be providing software, reference platforms, test solutions, and extended component lineup such as the application processor along with the chipset to the companies interested in getting this product from them.
