Nvidia’s PureVideo
Nvidia is planning to outdo current generation of video cards and the display quality on computer monitors with their latest technological marvel named PureVideo. It is aimed to accelerate MPEG 2 and high-definition content on computers, which would be powered by the latest Nvidia’s GeForce processors.
The technology is aimed at bringing home-theater quality to PCs and Laptops. And would use both hardware and software components to raise the standards to something currently unseen in the market. Their GeForce series would be incorporating technologies, which would let users watch crisp and stutter-free video.
Dan Vivoli, executive vice president of marketing at Nvidia had this to say about this launch: “The personal computer has never been well-regarded for its abilities to deliver high-quality video playback. The GeForce 6 series with PureVideo technology finally merges the flexibility of the PC platform with the capabilities of high-end consumer electronics to give consumers more choice over how they experience video.”
Company claims that PureVideo would eliminate the drop in quality normally associated with video on the PC by executing an advanced set of algorithms typically found in high-end consumer electronics devices.
