Next Space Shuttle launch scheduled for August 7
US space agency NASA has said that they are aiming to launch the Space Shuttle on August 7. This new scheduled date is two days earlier than the previous target date.
NASA has announced this earlier date for next launch as they want to avoid a scheduling crunch at Florida’s spaceport.
They are aiming to gain more time to accommodate more launches for this year. NASA spokesman Kyle Herring added in a statement: “While the schedule is tight, we certainly can make it.”
NASA is also scheduled to launch a new Mars lander called Phoenix on August 3. Space Shuttle launch would be followed by a military communications satellite on August 11.
