Steve Jobs: iPhone unlikely to hurt iPod sales

Wall Street Journal has quoted Apple CEO Steve Jobs as saying that he does not believe that the iPhone would hurt the sales of their money spinner iPod.

Jobs was quoted as saying: “We can report to you that it hasn’t so far. I’m not too worried about that.”

Apple iPod range of digital media players is one of the most profitable products for the company and now the Apple iPhone is expected to boost the company revenues even further.

The mobile phone device cost $500 or $600, depending on memory capacity and work as three devices: A full screen iPod Video, an internet surfing machine and of course a regular mobile phone device.

Jobs added: “We’re building a fair number of them, but we may not (meet demand). We’ve taken our best guess, but it wouldn’t surprise me at all if it ain’t enough.”
