Google acquires GrandCentral Communications
Search engine giant Google has announced their latest acquisition. They have now acquired GrandCentral Communications.
GrandCentral Communications is a company which provides people with telephone numbers that follows them wherever they go. This number can be routed to home telephones, office lines or mobile devices as per the requirement of the owner.
The two companies have not disclosed the financial aspects of this deal signed between them.
Company representative Wesley Chan said in a statement: “We think GrandCentral’s technology fits well into Google’s efforts to provide services that enhance the collaborative exchange of information between our users.”
Chan further spoke about the technology provided by GrandCentral: “You get one phone number that you can set to ring all, some, or none of your phones, based on who’s calling. This way, your phone number is tied to you, and not your location or job.”
