Research in Motion to launch Blackberry in China
Media sources have said that Research in Motion have now received official permission from the Chinese government to launch their Blackberry device and technology in the Chinese market.
China is the world’s largest mobile market and this could mean good business for the company.
Incidentally, RIM has been trying to enter the Chinese market since 1999 and have been waiting for an approval from the Chinese Ministry of Information Industry.
Toronto-based Globe and Mail newspaper claimed that RIM has now received the permission and they can now launch their services in China.
Market sources added that the company is now likely to launch the iconic Blackberry 8700g handset in the Chinese market by the end of August this year. The company has apparently already received 5,000 advance orders.
RIM already has a presence in several Asian countries including Japan, India, Singapore and South Korea.
The company has not officially commented on this report in the market.
